LEICESTER will make an early start to their 2024 Sports Insure Premiership campaign – with opening night set for Thursday March 14.
The Watling JCB Lions will host former champions Belle Vue in a mouthwatering clash to kick off the season, with the Aces again likely to track a powerful line-up.
It will be the earliest start to official racing at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park, although not the earliest ever meeting at the venue – as back in 2014, the club staged the Ben Fund Bonanza on March 9.
The Lions also have a home clash with King’s Lynn on March 21 before their opening away fixture of the season at the Adrian Flux Arena on March 28.
Easter Monday (April 1) features the first leg of the KO Cup quarter-final as the Lions host Ipswich, and reigning champions Sheffield are in town on Thursday April 11.
The first home matches against Premiership newcomers Birmingham and Oxford are set for Thursday April 25 and Bank Holiday Monday May 27 respectively.
