LEICESTER Speedway are saddened to hear the news that former Lion Cubs team sponsor Roger Webster has passed away.
Roger sponsored club’s National Development League team in 2019 and 2021, with the Cubs winning the league and Cup double in that first season.
He had been in hospital in recent weeks having suffered a cardiac arrest triggered by the onset of Covid.
Promoter Stewart Dickson said: “I’ve only known Roger for a short time, but his commitment and support to the Lions, Cubs and individual riders has been incredible.
“It’s very sad news indeed, and our condolences go out to his family. Everyone at Leicester will be saddened on hearing of Roger’s passing.”
